Cheque SigningAll Cheque signing or Bank Transfer must be authorised by two unrelated individuals. Cash Reconciliation
All Tills are linked to the main Reception Computer.
The Wedderburn's Software (Total Loyalty and Total Control) on the Reception Till must be shut down at the end of shift.
The Main Reception Computer must always be left running overnight.
At the end of each shift the monies for each day's takings per till must be kept separate, so each can be reconciled individually. If the takings for a till do not reconcile to zero, the manager must establish the reason and state this on the takings sheet before signing.
Cash payments for incidental items or wages for casual staff must not be made from the till. (Wages can only be paid against an authorised timesheet.)
Electronic Till Key Fobs must be used by ALL members of Staff. Logging onto the Till using the "Clerk Id" function on the Till is not allowed.
Each regular member of Staff will be allocated a unique Key Fob Number. Use of someone else's Key without authorisation could result in disciplinary action.
The Key Fobs will be kept in the locked Key Cabinet in the Duty Managers Office and must be signed in and out by the Duty Manager.
Removal of Key Fobs from the premises is not permitted and could result in disciplinary action.
The key to the Key Cabinet must not be left in the lock.
Special keys (ie for X'ing or Z'ing the Till) must be attached to an individual's Fob Key and not left in the Till.
Z'ing the Till is now performed by the Software and must not be performed on the Till.
At the end of shift, the Duty Manager must run an X Report from each Till, sign it and attach it to the Daily Takings Sheet.
When empty, the Till Cash Drawer should be left open.
The Training clerk id (15) should not be used except for training purposes - if used accidentally this should be reported to a Manager.
Staff should ensure that items are entered carefully thus avoiding the use of the Correction key. Staff should be prepared to explain usage of the correction key.
No unauthorised person is allowed to use the tills. All till operators must be recognised staff and have undergone the requisite training.
