The new windows in the side lounge were completed this week, with all the structural metalwork being encased.
Some of the windows were taken out to be replaced, but it was then discovered that the old windows had been supporting the ceiling. The news ones did not have any integral support in them which necessitated calling in a structural surveyor to provide guidance and calculations for the remedial work.
We forward all the necessary documentation for due diligence, which is a pre-requisite of the Award.
We hear that we have been successful in our application to Awards4All and we get a conditional Grant of £10,000 towards repair, sanding and resealing of our Community Centre floor and Side Lounge Windows replacement and Blackout Blinds. Press embargo until 2nd October, 2012 so we can't tell anyone.
